Happy New Year! This new year of 2015 is off to a running start and I’m not even used to writing “2015” on checks yet. Fund raising letters to support the new Directors/Caretakers Residence were mailed on Saturday, December 27 in hopes of reaching our membership during that all important before the end of year tax exemption time. This fund raising campaign is so important to the future of Marsh Haven. A Directors/Caretakers Residence will solidify the legacy of this nature center well into the future.

Fund raising letters to support the new Directors/Caretakers Residence were mailed on Saturday, December 27 in hopes of reaching our membership during that all important before the end of year tax exemption time. This fund raising campaign is so important to the future of Marsh Haven. A Directors/Caretakers Residence will solidify the legacy of this nature center well into the future.
On a practical basis, an
on-site residence will enable the 24/7/365 commitment to care for our animals
and the facilities, allow someone to be on-site to assist visiting groups,
watch over the buildings, and address emergency situations immediately. Looking at the long-term, this residence will help
us to attract and keep quality leadership for our nature center well into the
future.
This is a huge undertaking and we have taken a leap of faith
that it will be accomplished. As a nature center, we are committed to
sustainability practices and looking out for what is best for our environment,
so part of this blog will also be to document the construction of this house
and share ideas, tips and thoughts of things that anyone can do to make their
home more “green” and eco-friendly. Stay tuned as we move forward on this
adventure.
