Marsh Haven Nature Center is a non-profit nature center
located on the north end of the Horicon Marsh, just east of Waupun on Highway
49. We are an independent nature center, separate from the federal and state
land managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources. Marsh Haven is run by a volunteer director and a
volunteer board, and supported by a strong and loyal membership. We are a
dynamic and dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to this special
place in nature – Marsh Haven Nature Center.
Your blogger to document this adventure in nature is Renee
Wahlen, the volunteer director at Marsh Haven since October of 2011. The goal
of this blog is to document the ordinary and extraordinary events that make up
each day at a nature center. I never know what may happen on a day to day
basis. Most of the days are filled with rich, rewarding experiences, but some
days are a challenge. I hope to fill these pages with some of the stories that
have shaped Marsh Haven into the very special place that it is - a place where
the “best people on Earth meet.”
